MINISTER ASSIGNED TO VISIT FAMILIES OF PASURUAN INCIDENT VICTIMS
Surabaya, Sept 17 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has assigned Communication and Information Minister Mohammad Nuh to visit the families of the victims of the Pasuruan incident and convey the government's condolences to them, a government official said.
"The president personally asked the minister to convey his condolences to the families of the tithe tragedy victims in Pasuruan. The minister will depart from Jakarta at 12.00 today ," Sukemi, a special adviser to the minister, said here Wednesday.
Sukemi said he did not know whether, apart from expressing condolences, the minister would also bring material or financial assistance to the bereaved families in Pasuruan, East Java.
"The minister was asked to go to Pasuruan because he happened to have been invited to a Nuzulul Quran (Revelation of the Koran) function at the Islamic Center in Surabaya, East Java," Sukemi said.
