Moderate earthquake jolts Balochistan and Karachi parts
Islamabad/Karachi, August 10, 2011 (PPI): Moderate earthquake of 5.7 on the Richter scale hit southern and southwestern parts of Pakistan, however no human loss or property damage were reported, Metrological department said on Wednesday.
The quake epicenter was located near Kharaan area of Baluchistan province.
Seismological Network of Pakistan Meteorological Department in Karachi also recorded earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 in some parts of Karachi this morning. Met Department’s press release said Jolts were felt in Balochistan with depth of 45.Km at 27.82 latitude towards North and 65.17E longitude towards East.
