Turkish Cypriot economy expected to grow 4 percent in 2011, premier says
LEFKOSA (A.A) - August 10, 2011 - Turkish Cypriot economy is expected to grow four percent this year, the country's prime minister said on Wednesday.
Irsen Kucuk said despite a global economic crisis, the Turkish Cypriot economy had made a significant progress in the past two years thanks to measures which he said were taken in cooperation with Turkey.
Kucuk said living standards would improve substantially by 2014 with some major projects in infrastructure, health, tourism and education.
The premier said the government targeted to reduce budget deficit to 100 million Turkish liras in 2011, and close the deficit in 2012.
