About 80% is not keen on switching their mobile phone operators: Gilani Poll
ISLAMABAD, August 09, 2011 (PPI): The results of a Gilani Research Foundation survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan indicated that despite a considerable proportion of people expressing dissatisfaction or only partial satisfaction with their current mobile phone operator, merely 18% intend to switch from their current operator. The vast majority of 80% do not intend to change.
In a survey received here on Tuesday, a nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces were asked the following question: “Do you intend to change your mobile phone operator during the next 3 months?” The findings of the survey revealed that only 18% Pakistanis intended to change. More than three-fourths (80%) said they did not wish to change.2% gave no response.
20% of those aged under 30 years and 27% of those aged over 51 years said they wished to switch from their current mobile phone operator.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2574 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during June 26-July 2, 2011. Error margin is estimated to be approximately + 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
