Heavy monsoon downpours lashes different parts of the country

Islamabad, August 08, 2011 (PPI): Heavy monsoon downpours has lashed different parts of the country on Monday including Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

Lahore has received the highest 120 mm rainfall so far while Islamabad received eighty five mm. The residents living on the banks of Nullah Lai have been directed to shift to safer places.

The Metrological department has forecast more rain during this monsoon season as compared to the last year. According to the Flood Warning Division Lahore’ a medium to high flood is expected in Deg’ Palku’ Bhed’ Hasri and Basantar nullahs on Monday and tomorrow.
