Senate: Senate special committee underlines need for observance regional provincial quota

Islamabad, August 08, 2011 (PPI): Senate Special Committee constituted by the House met here at parliament house and underlined the need for observance of regional provincial quota in letter and spirit.

The committee also observed that local of the area must be given preference in recruitment at Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL). Leader of House in the Senate, Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari presided over committee meeting.

The committee discussed in detail recruitment made in Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) during the year 2007-11, with special reference to indicate has to weather employees reinstated were on contract, permanent or daily wages.

It was also given details of appointments made on the basis of provincial quota with breakup of all cadres. The committee directed the ministry to remove discrepancies in quota system and allocate regional and provincial quota in transparent manners according to law and constitution. Earlier, PPL Secretary briefed the committee.

Senators including Wasim Sajjad, Zahid Khan, Col ® Tahir Hussain Mashhadi, Dr. Abdul Malik, Islamuddin Sheikh, Abbas Khan, Shahid Hussain Bugti and Dr. Ismail Buledi also attended the meeting.
