CONFLICTS EXISTING IN SOUTH CAUCASUS REGION MUST BE SETTLED, ANNE DERSE
Baku,17 September,(AzerTAj)The recent developments in Georgia proved that conflicts existing in the region must be settled, U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne Derse said Tuesday during the 4th Azerbaijan Micro-finance Conference.
She remembered U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney `s opinions who had said in Baku “it is time to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict”. The Ambassador stressed U.S. supports Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity. She also said sovereign countries of the South Caucasus region should choose their path independently.
The Ambassador noted the scheduled visit of Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Matthew J. Bryza to Baku would be fruitful.
