Hyundai Engineering wins US$238 mln order from Uzbekistan

SEOUL, Aug. 8 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Engineering Co., a South Korean industrial plant builder, said Monday that it has signed a US$238 million deal to design a gas processing facility to be built in Uzbekistan.
Under the deal with Lukoil Uzbekistan Operating Company, Hyundai Engineering will design the Kandym gas processing plant to be constructed in southwestern region of Bukhara, Uzbekistan, the company said.
The plant will have an annual production capacity of 6.5 million tons of gas, the biggest gas-processing facilities in the country, said Hyundai Engineering.
Hyundai Engineering said that the deal will pave the way for the company to extend its business to the engineering design sector.
