Five killed after vehicle overturns

MUJU, South Korea, Aug. 7 (Yonhap) -- Five university students were killed and as many injured Sunday when their van overturned near a tunnel in this southern county, police said.
The five students from Chungnam National University died after their vehicle slammed into a guardrail on a road in Muju, about 240 kilometers south of Seoul, at around 1:10 p.m., a local police spokesman said, adding they had rented the van for a retreat.
Three of the five surviving students sustained serious injuries and are being treated at Chungnam National University Hospital in Daejeon, north of Muju.
The police said they're still trying to determine the cause of the accident.
