Qatar Red Crescent Extends Food Assistance to Families in Somalia

Doha, August 06 (QNA) - The Qatar Red Crescent Society has extended emergency food assistance to families affected by famine in Somalia, as part of Qatari relief efforts.
The Society said in a press release that a team specialized in relief and disaster management arrived in southern Somalia to provide emergency food items to about 250 families affected by disaster. The items include rice, sugar, flour, oil, and dates.
The team will also re-evaluate the needs, and work on implementing relief projects in addition to long-term projects in the fields of health and medical care, water and sanitation, and food security. (QNA)
