NHRC, Al Jazeera Network Sign MoU to Develop Partnership

Doha, August 06 (QNA) - The National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) and Al Jazeera Network have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop and strengthen cooperation and partnership between them.
    The MoU was signed for NHRC by its chairman Dr Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri and for Al Jazeera Network by its director general Wadah Khanfar.
    The MoU focuses on enhancing public awareness about the values, principles and standards of human rights, exchanging training grants between the two sides, conducting joint studies and surveys, and exchanging views and information, documents and analyzes specialized on human rights issues and public liberties as well as organizing workshops, conferences and seminars and courses that aim to raise awareness on human rights and humanitarian law for media persons, as well as shedding light on the strategic activities undertaken by the Committee in the field of human rights.
    The agreement seeks to support the partnership between the two parties through the exchange of grants by allowing Al Jazeera journalists to take part in the specialized courses organized by the NHRC, as well as hosting the NHRC's media persons in Al Jazeera for training in the public liberties section.
