BOI: Thailand is likely to attract over Bt400bn new investment in 2011
BANGKOK, August 6 (TNA) - The Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI) says that the Thai economy is likely to attract new investment projects, worth over 400 billion baht, this year, meeting the BOI's earlier target.
The BOI, under the Thai Ministry of Industry, acknowledged that a total of 1.030 new investment projects, worth 299.5 billion baht, had applied for the agency's promotional privileges during the first seven months of this year, a 37.9 per cent year-on-year surge.
The BOI said that new investment projects, worth 53.6 billion baht, applied for Thailand's officially-promotional privileges in July alone, the highest during the January-July 2011 period. (TNA)
