Abhisit re-elected Democrat Party's leader

BANGKOK, August 6 (TNA) - Outgoing Thai prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva was re-elected the leader of his Democrat Party on Saturday morning with no other nominations.
The majority of the Democrat Party's members, or 96.03 per cent, voted to support Abhisit to return to the party's top post.
At the meeting, Chalermchai Sri-on was also elected the Democrat Party’s secretary general, replacing outgoing deputy prime minister for security affairs Suthep Thaugsuban.
Abhisit announced his resignation as the Democrat Party's leader after the party lost in Thailand's general election on July 3. The Oxford-educated outgoing premier was once Thailand's youngest prime minister and, probably, the youngest leader of the Democrat Party, the country's oldest and most institutionalized political party.
