MQM submits list of 500 saboteurs in NA
ISLAMABAD, August 05, 2011 (PPI): Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) while blaming the government for the on-going unrest in Karachi presented a list to the National Assembly pertaining to 500 miscreants allegedly involved in sabotaging peace of the metropolis.
Addressing the National Assembly session held with Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi in the chair here on Friday, MQM central leader Farooq Sattar demanded a judicial commission to probe why the government did not react on time against the saboteurs playing havoc with the lives of the people.
He said the commission should visit Kati Pahari and Orangi Town and investigate the unbridled killings, besides demanding of the government to recompense the loss incurred in Karachi's violence.
He said the people of Karachi have been given a message from law-enforcers to take care of their security themselves, adding the government was itself responsible for creating unrest in the metropolis under its well-thought plan.
He also demanded the government to send to Karachi a committee comprising representatives from all political parties present in the National Assembly, adding the committee should bring the facts into the limelight.
Sattar said all those individuals on the list submitted by his party were criminals and terrorists and Karachi had been handed over to the underworld.
He alleged efforts were under way to rob MQM of its mandate in the city, adding that 1,500 people had fallen victim to target killing in the metropolis since 2007, adding that if the government was sincere then peace could be restored in Karachi within three-day.
The debate on the situation in Karachi continued in the National Assembly and PML-N MNA, Shereen Arshad while taking part in the debate said that the government had failed to take action against those destroying peace in the city. he National Assembly session was adjourned till Monday evening.
