"Yingluck" expects finishing Cabinet line-up in few days

BANGKOK, August 5 (TNA) - Thailand's first female prime minister-elected Yingluck Shinawatra said on Friday that she expects to finish her Cabinet line-up within a few days and her government will then work at its best.

After a House session to vote for her premiership, Yingluck told reporters that her Cabinet line-up would be clearer in the next couple of days and, thereafter, she would like to have a chance to prove the work of her new Pheu Thai Party-led administration for the public and national interest.

Yingluck, the 44-year-old youngest sister of exiled ex-Thai premier Thaksin Shinawatra, said she could not work alone and would need cooperation from all parties, including government officials, to ensure the highest benefits for the public. The leading Thai businesswoman-turned politician insisted, however, that she is independently forming the new Thai Cabinet line-up, dismissing speculations that Thaksin has prominent power to allocate ministerial posts.

Yingluck vowed to publicly announce urgent policies of her government to be implemented over the first six months soon after her premiership is endorsed by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej in a royal command. In respose to media inquiry into the qualifications of the new Thai foreign minister and defence minister, Yingluck hinted that they have to be knowledgeable, competent and well-experienced. (TNA)
