The Arab Ministerial Subcommittee of the Arab Peace Initiative Committee/ Statement

Doha, August 03 (QNA) - The Arab Ministerial Subcommittee of the Arab Peace Initiative Committee chaired by HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Dr. Khalid bin Mohammad Al-Attiyah concluded its meeting here tonight.
The meeting emphasized the Arab decision to go to the United Nations to request its members to recognize State of Palestine on the lines of the fourth of June 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and move to apply for full membership in the United Nations.
It was agreed on the Action Plan proposed for implementation during the coming period, to continue moving and take the necessary actions to implement them and to mobilize international support for it at both the UN Security Council and General Assembly.
Steps of the action plan referred to include a series of visits and contacts and consultations with Member States at the UN Security Council as well as the geopolitical groups in the United Nations and regional and international organizations concerned."
It was also agreed the Committee of Ministers of the Arab peace initiative to meet in the second week of September 2011 to consider developments, follow up the situation and take necessary steps in this regard. (QNA)
