SUMO WRESTLER M.ANAND AWARDED

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Ulaanbaatar city's award--a medal of Honour--has been bestowed "Kakuryu" M.Anand, a wrestler from Mongolia who competes at the highest division of the Japanese professional sumo, for brilliant success in the sumo world. The medal was granted Tuesday by the city Mayor G.Monkhbayar in the UB Administration.
At the meeting held after the ceremony, the Mayor congratulated the wrestler on the successful competitions and wished him more successes.
Competing for 10 years in professional sumo, M.Anand had 12 wins at the Natsu basho (May tournament) and 10 wins at the Nagoya basho (July tournament), and has satisfied a preliminary condition for gaining an Oozeki title (the 2nd biggest title of sumo). If he gains at least 10 wins at the Aki basho (September tournament), he will become the Oozeki, in accordance with the sumo rules.
