Thai commercial envoys educate local operators about AEC

BANGKOK, August 2 (TNA) - Thai commercial envoys are educating business operators in the country’s upper North about the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015 to enable them to market their products in Southeast Asia as well as in China.
Chiang Rai governor Somchai Hathayatanti chaired a technical seminar session at Dusit Island Resort in Chiang Rai province on Tuesday, at which Thai commercial envoys to Laos, Burma, Vietnam, Cambodia and China shared their knowledge and experiences about business regulations in 10-ASEAN member countries with over 300 business operators from Chiang Rai, Phayao, Phrae and Nan provinces.
Somchai said the seminar was aimed at helping the operators better prepare for the international trade as well as the advent of the AEC in 2015.
Meanwhile, Chief of Chiang Rai Province Commercial Office Chalermpol Pongchabapnapa, said during the technical seminar that his office will launch training sessions for commercial envoys to share in-depth knowledge with local business operators. (TNA)
