Vietnam's footballers to join Merdeka Cup 2008
Hanoi (VNA)- Vietnam 's olympic squad will take part in the 40 th
Merdeka Cup in Malaysia from October 15 - 25, announced the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) on Sept. 15.
The 25-member team led by Coach Mai Duc Chung will gather in Hanoi on
October 1 before a 10-day training course in Nanjing ( China ).
Planned to arrive in Malaysia on October 13, Vietnam 's team will join
seven other squads including Myanmar , Nepal , Bangladesh , Sierra Leone
, Afghanistan , Kazakhstan and the host to play in matches arranged in
two groups.
The champion of the Merdeka cup 2008 will get a 10,000 USD prize and the
second 5,000 USD ./.-Enditem
