Asean flag raises in Indonesian embassy
VIENTIANE,AUG.(KPL)- The Embassy of Indonesia in Laos, here last Saturday held a ceremony to raise the Asean flag.
The ceremony was held at the Embassy of Indonesia in the presence of Ambassador of Indonesia to Laos Mr. Kria Fahmi Pasaribu and high-ranking officials from the embassy.
“I think that all embassies-base overseas of Asean member countries should hang the Asean flag next to their national flags,” Mr. Pasaribu said at the ceremony.
He added that, “the Asean member countries will raise both Asean and their national flags mirroring the solid and close relationships among Asean countries”.
“I believe that the Asean member countries will develop more rapid in the future and the cooperation will be also enhanced,” he went on.
The holding Asean flag was undertaken by the agreement on using Asean flag of Asean Foreign Ministers approved at the 8th ASEAN Workshop of Inter-Parliamentary Forum in Jakarta, Indonesia on 6 May 2011.
The use of Asean flag according to the new regulation, all Asean member countries will install the Asean flag in Asean Secretariats of each country, embassies and consulates of all Asean member countries. The installation of Asean flag aims to raise awareness of knowledge on Asean to the Asean member countries.
