TS.ELBEGDORJ LAUNCHES "KHAAN QUEST-2011"

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The President and the Commander-in-Chief of Mongolia's Armed Forces Ts.Elbegdorj attended an opening ceremony of the "Khaan Quest-2011" multi-national peacekeeping exercise.
The action opened July 31 in the Tavantolgoi military training center. The State Head has underlined that the exercise is one of the biggest measure that significantly is contributing to expanding of the UN peacekeepers, improving the skills of the participant countries, and to strengthening of the military confidence and security in Asia-Pacific.
This year's international exercise has attracting some 1,100 servicemen from Mongolia, the USA, Australia, the Republic of Korea, Cambodia, Canada, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan and Singapore. Observers have been sent by Russia, China, France, the UK and Vietnam.
This year's "Khaan Quest" has become one of the five biggest events in Asia-Pacific region for peacekeeping operations. The action consists of battle-command training, tactical exercises, humanitarian assistance acts and mobile medical services. In addition, the foreign peacekeepers usually give humanitarian and medical service to Mongolian citizens.
