Crows down Port by 32 points

(AAP) - Adelaide caretaker Mark Bickley notched a first-up victory as an AFL head coach with the Crows downing Port Adelaide by 32 points on Sunday.
Adelaide prevailed 16.15 (111) to 11.13 (79) at AAMI Stadium to leave arch rivals Port on the bottom of the ladder.
Crows forward Taylor Walker kicked four goals and squandered other gilt-edged scoring chances, while captain Nathan van Berlo and onballers Scott Thompson and Bernie Vince were prolific ball winners.
The Power, stuck on two wins in their dismal season, had four multiple goal kickers - Cameron Hitchcock, Jay Schulz, Brett Ebert and Chad Cornes all booting two goals.
Bickley, in his first match as head coach following Neil Craig's resignation last Monday, oversaw Adelaide's fifth win of the season in an error-riddled encounter befitting both sides' lowly status.
The Crows skipped to a 22-point lead at half-time and kept a sloppy Port at arm's length for the remainder of the encounter before 40,586 spectators.
The Power fought back in the third term and crept within two goals on three occasions - but Adelaide managed to respond each time with the next goal before kicking clear in the last term.
Port's cause was hampered by key forward Schulz tearing a hamstring during his side's third quarter challenge, forcing the cellar dwellers to rely on tiring veteran Chad Cornes as their attacking focus.
Port defender Cameron O'Shea will come under scrutiny for a head high blow to Crow David Mackay in the last term which sparked a melee of at least 14 players between the bitter rivals.
The Power host Collingwood next Saturday night while the Crows, who remain in 14th spot on the ladder despite their win, travel to Brisbane to meet the Lions next Sunday.
