First lot of durians from Thai far South exported to China

YALA, July 29 (TNA) - The first lot of durians from Thailand's southernmost Yala Province is being transported by road in container trucks to China.
The container trucks carrying 18 tonnes of the high-quality durians left Yala on Friday, following an inaugural ceremony presided over by Yala Governor Krissada Bunraat.
The Yala governor acknowledged that it was the first lot of locally-grown graded A and B durians from the deep South exported to the immense Chinese market, from a total order of several hundreds tonnes placed by China at an agreed price of 27 baht/kg. (TNA)
