Keangnam Enterprises wins US$758 mln bid in Algeria

SEOUL, Sept. 16 (Yonhap) -- South Korean builder Keangnam Enterprises Ltd. said Tuesday that a consortium consisting of several South Korean builders, including Keangnam, has won a US$758 million bid in Algeria to build infrastructure for a new city in the north of the country.

The formal deal is expected to be signed at the end of next month, Keangnam
Enterprises said in a regulatory filing.

The consortium includes Taeyoung Engineering & Construction Co., Hanyang
Corp. and ByuckSan Engineering Co., Keangnam Enterprises said in the filing.

When the formal deal is made, the South Korean builders will begin working on
construction of roads, telecommunication and water supply facilities, as well as
sewage systems, in the new city of Sidi Abdellah, 25 kilometers east of Algiers,
the capital of Algeria.
