AFL Bulldogs make seven changes
SYDNEY (AAP) - July 28 - AFL finals hopefuls the Western Bulldogs have gambled on seven selection changes for their must-win clash with West Coast on Saturday.
Rodney Eade's men have massive injury concerns, with Adam Cooney (knee), Shaun Higgins (knee) and Nathan Djerrkura (achilles) overlooked for the round-19 encounter at Etihad Stadium.
The 12th-placed Bulldogs have dropped Lindsay Gilbee, Dylan Addison, Jarrad Grant and Lukas Markovic.
Defenders Ryan Hargrave and Robert Murphy and forwards Ed Barlow and Justin Sherman, who is back from a four-week ban for racial abuse, are among the inclusions.
Fifth-placed West Coast will be without ruckman Nic Naitanui (soreness) and forward Josh Kennedy, who was hit in the eye with a tennis ball at training.
Essendon's defensive stocks took another hit on Thursday when Tayte Pears and Michael Hurley joined Dustin Fletcher on the sidelines.
Fletcher will miss a second week with an ankle problem, ruling the 36-year-old out of Sunday's AFL round-19 clash with competition leaders Collingwood at the MCG.
Pears (knee) and Hurley (foot) would have been key candidates to match-up against Magpies key forward Travis Cloke.
The Bombers named a 25-man squad with skipper Jobe Watson selected on a half-forward flank in his return after being rested for four matches with a hamstring injury.
Collingwood have recalled Darren Jolly from illness for the ruckman's 200th game.
Geelong promoted four premiership players including Cam Mooney for Saturday's match against Melbourne at Skilled Stadium.
The forward has battled knee soreness and hasn't played a senior game since round 10.

The Demons regain exciting forward Liam Jurrah.
Carlton have recalled Ryan Houlihan for his 200th game in Friday night's clash at Etihad Stadium against North Melbourne.
Brock McLean has also returned to the side in place of Ed Curnow and Wayde Twomey. North recalled Ben Cunnington for Ben Warren.
t Kilda will be without suspended skipper Nick Riewoldt for Saturday night's clash against Gold Coast, with Tom Lynch coming into the side.
The Suns made four changes including recalling rugby convert Karmichael Hunt.
Fremantle included former Magpies forward Jack Anthony for his second game in Dockers' colours alongside Rhys Palmer, with Luke McPharlin (suspended) and Nick Suban (soreness) left out.
Fremantle host Hawthorn on Saturday night and the Hawks have recalled Matt Suckling for Shane Savage (shoulder).
Adelaide, who will have caretaker coach Mark Bickley on debut for Sunday's derby against Port Adelaide, have included forward Taylor Walker in their squad.
