"Yingluck" wishes red shirts will not move against Thai EC

BANGKOK, July 28 (TNA) - The Pheu Thai Party's top list MP and would-be first female Thai prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra said on Thursday day that she believes red-shirt demonstrators will not make any movement against the Election Commission (EC)’s delay in confirming the list MP status for their leader Jatuporn Prompan.

Yingluck revealed that her Pheu Thai Party's legal team has already sent relevant documents to the Thai EC to facilitate its consideration and decision on the MP status of Jatuporn, saying that the election agency may take some times for its conclusion on the issue, and that she does not expect the Election Commission to seek a ruling from Bangkok's Constitution Court on Jatuporn’s case.

Yingluck insisted that the Election Commission is believed to treat the case fairly and red shirt demonstrators should not make any movement pending the EC's decision because they are rational.

Regarding the nomination of Thailand's new House Speaker who is also Parliament President, Yingluck acknowledged that she now has the name in her mind and will inform her party of the selection and reasons next Monday and she expects the election of the new Thai Parliament President and two Vice Presidents will happen next Tuesday, one day after the first House session reconvenes.

The Pheu Thai top list MP said that the new Thai Parliament President and the two Vice Presidents will be her party's members and she will discuss the issue with her coalition parties this weekend, noting that the election of the new Thai prime minister is to take place after a royal approval of the Thai Parliament President and two Vice Parliament Presidents.
