KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 16 (Bernama) -- A total of 750 one-to-one business meetings are expected to be arranged during the Indian Engineering Exhibition (INDEE 2008) to be held here from Sept 25 to 27.
The business-to-business matching programme is aimed at providing an
opportunity forengineering companies of both countries to forge strategic
alliances for growth and joint ventures in Malaysia as well as Asean region,
said the Engineering Export Promotion Council of India (EEPC) which is the
organiser.
"We are confident that our partnership with various Malaysian partner
organisations for INDEE 2008 will enable our members to take advantage of
business opportunities in Malaysia," the EEPC said in a statement here
Tuesday.
The three-day exhibition will see more than 150 Indian companies gathered
at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), with an eye on collaborating with local
partners to make Malaysia the hub for penetrating the region, it added.
Malaysia is the biggest market in Asean for Indian engineering companies,
accounting for 19.04 percent of the overall export of engineering products from
India to Asean, EEPC said.
"In 2007/2008, India's export of engineering products to Malaysia grew by
106.74 percent to US$747.64 million from US$361.63 million in 2006/2007," it
