Sole survivor of chopper crash presented royal flower

PETCHABURI, July 27 (TNA) - Sergeant Pattanaporn Tonjan, a Thai army mechanic who narrowly survived a helicopter crash in Petchaburi province last Sunday, has been granted a royal flower.
On Wednesday, representatives of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn and Her Royal Highness Princess Srirasm presented the royal gift to Sgt Pattanaporn at King Rama VI Hospital in Bangkok.
Chief of the Hospital’s Accident and Emergency Ward, Colonel Docter Peerapol Pokpong, said Sgt Pattanaporn was recovering well, but would remain under intensive care for another week.
He also confirmed the soldier without any post traumatic stress.
In another development, Army chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha said the plan to acquire 30 new helicopters by the Army did not result from a string of helicopter crashes in Kaeng Krajan National Park, but had been proposed for a long time. (TNA)
