PREMIER MEETS V.CHURKIN

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Prime Minister S.Batbold met Tuesday visiting Mr. V.I. Churkin, the Permanent Representative and Ambassador of the Russian Federation (RF) to the United Nations (UN).
The Premier has mentioned Mongolia is runninh talks with its neighbor countries about ensuring its nuclear weapon-free status, and requested Churkin to support Mongolia in seeking a non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council in 2022.
The Premier has expressed a satisfaction with close positions of the two countries in majority of matters, noting Mongolia is celebrating its 50th anniversary of joining the UN.
"Mongolia has overcome its transition period, and now it endeavoring to reach an economic sustainable development, for example, jobs have been increasing as much as the economics is widening," the Premier has said. Mongolia aims to enroll in active relations of the Northeast Asia, adding in this matter imporant are ties only with the neighbor countries, but also with others.
In turn, Mr. Churkin has said Mongolia had already overcome the transition period and entered the intensive development. "The Permanent Representative of Your country to the UN is leading the 2nd committee of the General Assembly, and it proves that Mongolia has become a reputable member of the UN," Mr. Churkin has said, adding Mongolia and Russia keep the same positions in many issues.
