Thai soldier recuperates after chopper crash

PETCHABURI, July 25 (TNA) - A soldier who survived Sunday’s fatal crash of a Bell 212 type helicopter in Kaeng Krajan district of Thailand’s Petchaburi province is recovering, but doctors say he will be under intensive care for the next few days.
For the time being, a woeful atmosphere continues to grip Thailand as the nation weeps over lives lost to three helicopter crashes this month.
Phramongkutklao Hospital Accidents and Emergency Medicine Director Colonel Dr Pheeraphol Pokpong, said the overall condition of Sergeant Patanaporn Tonjan, the only survivor from the third chopper, had improved despite bone fractures sustained in his upper waist.
He added that Sgt Tonjan would remain under intensive care for the next few days, and would also be given psychotherapy for emotional support. (TNA)
