Work on new Thai government policies on progress

BANGKOK, July 25 (TNA) - Thailand's would-be first female prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra said on Monday that she is working on comprehensive policies of the new government, led by her Pheu Thai Party, emphasizing on those stimulating the national economy.

Yingluck told reporters that she has accessed to detailed information in all areas, including those on securing state revenue sources and maximizing use of administrative budget, taking both macro and micro economic aspects into consideration, to ensure their practicality and to sustain public and national benefits.

Yingluck acknowledged that she will also discuss with all agencies concerned before finalizing the policy statement of her new Pheu Thai Party-led administration to be presented to the Thai Parliament next month, insisting that existing policies considered practical will be carried on.

Regarding the selection of the new Thai foreign minister, the Pheu Thai prime minister-to-be said that she is looking for a person highly-experienced in diplomatic affairs and international relations who will help boost and strengthen Thailand's relationship with the international community, noting that the person may be an outsider or a Pheu Thai member.
