Gulf Cooperation Council and Organization of Islamic Conference

Riyadh, September 15, SPA--The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the
Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) signed in Jeddah today a
cooperation agreement on enhancement of brotherly ties between
Islamic countries and peoples, consultation in various fields and
coordination of positions on all issues of common concern.
The agreement was signed by the GCC Secretary General Abdulrahman bin
Hamad Al-Atiyyah and the OIC Secretary General Prof. Ekmeleddin
Ihsanoglu.

The two general secretariats expressed their hope that this agreement
will further strengthen the ties and cooperation between the two
secretariats for the interest of the Islamic nations and peoples.
