Southern Thai areas blanketed by haze

SONGKHLA, July 23 (TNA) - Haze from forest fires in Indonesia has caused low visibility in southern Thailand, where authorities have warned local people and trawlers to take precaution.
A southwest monsoon wind has carried the smog from Indonesia’s Sumatra Island to blanket the southern part of Thailand.
Thailand's Meteorological Department said that it has kept monitoring the air quality in affected areas and will issue updated health warnings if it finds the smog density is over the official safety standard limit.
It is now the second time in several weeks that the haze in Songkhla Province, in particular, is posing risks of accidents, prompting authorities to have issued warning for the local public and fishing boats passing through the Songkhla Lake, connected to the regional Ocean, to take more precaution.
