New Thai Parliament president, ministers not yet named

BANGKOK, July 23 (TNA) - Thailand's would-be first female prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra has not yet revealed the names of the new Parliament President and ministers, saying that the executive board of her majority-elected Pheu Thai Party is working out the line-up.

Yingluck insisted that she has not discussed her Cabinet line-up with her elder brother and exiled ex-Thai premier Thaksin Shinawatra, as she has full freedom to work out the new Thai Cabinet. The leading Thai businesswoman-turned politician also denied that red-shirt leaders were pressuring for Cabinet portfolios.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Thailand (EC) has, so far, endorsed the MP status of 402 elected political candidates, leaving some 73 more MPs of the 500-seat Thai House of Representatives to have not yet been officially certified. (TNA)
