People in several Thai regions warned of more widespread downpours

BANGKOK, July 23 (TNA) - Thailand's Meteorological Department has issued a fresh warning for people in several regions of the country, including those in the North, East and West, to brace for more widespread downpours over the next couple of days, with heavy rainfalls and possible flash floods in some areas.

The Thai weather bureau said that people living near areas at risk, namely hillsides and other low lying areas, in six provinces, including Tak, Mae Hong Son, Chantaburi, Trat , Ratchaburi and Kanchanaburi , should particularly be prepared for the heavy downpours with possible landslides and flash floods subsequently.

The Meteorological Department also suggested that the public closely follow updated weather statements to be issued over the next few days. (TNA)
