IHK (CASE FILED AGAINST INDIAN ARMY FOR MOLESTATION OF WOMAN IN IHK)
Srinagar, July 22, 2011 (PPI): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir police have filed a case against Indian Army for the abduction and gang-rape of a woman in Kulgam district.
According to Kashmir Media Service, “We have registered a case against the Army on the basis of a complaint filed by the woman. After medical examination, further investigations will follow, a senior police official told media men.
A 30-year-old married woman was gang-raped by a group of Indian troops after being abducted outside her house on Tuesday evening in Manzgam area of the district. She was raped for two consecutive days before set free on Thursday morning.
The incident had triggered massive demonstrations against the incident in the area. The protesters were demanding stern action against the troopers involved in the incident. The protesters said that the army personnel belonging to 62-Rashtriya Rifles were involved in the incident.
