Kashmir (POLICEMAN KILLED IN SRINAGAR)
Srinagar, July 22, 2011 (PPI): In occupied Kashmir, a policeman died when his rifle went off at Soura in Srinagar.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the selection grade constable Mohammad Abdullah of Trishal Pulwama died when his service rifle went off during his duty outside the police station Soura.
The police officials told mediamen that preliminary investigations had indicated that the service rifle of the cop might have gone off accidentally but police had not ruled out the possibility of suicide.
On the other hand, dead body of an Australian tourist identified as Brian Anthony Barnett was recovered from Potosa Photola in Leh.
Meanwhile, a forest officer, Mohammad Aslam Butt was killed when his vehicle plunged into River Chenab after skidding off the road in Kishtwar while eleven persons were injured in separate road accidents across the Kashmir Valley.
