NA (Govt will not tolerate any attempt to disrupt peace of Karachi, PM)
Islamabad, July 22, 2011 (PPI): Intervening in the debate, Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said Karachi is economic hub of the country and the entire political leadership will have to sit together to find a solution.
Intervening in the debate on law and order situation in Karachi in the house on Friday, he said political stability in Karachi is directly linked to the economic stability of the country and therefore we will not tolerate any attempt to disrupt peace of the city.
The Prime Minister said during his visit to London he issued instruction to the chief whip of the PPP to ensure quorum in the requisitioned session of the Assembly so that the House could debate the situation in Karachi in an effective manner.
He condemned Thursday night’s incident in Malir and Landhi in Karachi and said he would be asking the provincial government to submit a report which would be shared with the House.
