Sudanese National Council Hails Qatar's Efforts to Reach Darfur Peace Deal

Khartoum, July 21 (QNA) - The Sudanese National Assembly in a session chaired by its Speaker Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Tahir hailed Qatar's efforts made towards Sudan and its keenness to achieve security, peace and stability in Darfur states, praising the efforts of HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, HE Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani and HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud which culminated in the signing of the peace agreement in Doha .
This came when the National Council received a notice from the head of the negotiating delegation in Doha Dr. Amin Hassan Omar.
Al-Tahir said signing Doha-Peace Agreement with Liberation and Justice Movement emphasised the distinctive relations between the two countries' governments and peoples.
He also praised the efforts of the official in charge of Darfur file Dr. Ghazi Salahuddin and the government delegation led by Dr. Amin Hassan Omar, saying that by signing the peace agreement, Darfur issue has been turned and that any external intervention to destabilize security and stability in Darfur by supporting anti-peace movements is an external aggression.
