QOC Releases Latest Edition of Qatar Sports Magazine
Doha, July 20 (QNA) - The 14th edition of Qatar Sports Magazine released by the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) features the World Conference on Sports and Environment held in Doha earlier this summer.
The conference which saw the attendance of President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Jacques Rogge, and Hungarian President and Chairman of IOC Sports and Environment Committee Pal Schmitt, other international sports officials and German figure skating star Katarina Witt was held here from April 30 to May 2 under patronage of the Heir Apparent and President of the QOC HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The latest edition also includes a report detailing the IOC Sports and Environment Awards presented to six organizations including the QOC.
The publication highlights the preparations for the 12th Arab Games to be hosted by Qatar in Doha from December 9 to 23 later this year.
The magazine also features the opening round of the IAAF Diamond League organized by the Qatar Athletics Federation under chairmanship of Ahmad Abdullah Al Zaini.
It also has a report on the Schools Olympic Programme with an interview of the Executive Director Khalid Shandoor talking on his experience with the national sports project.
