Train collision in Thailand, scores injured

RATCHABURI, July 19 (TNA) - Forty-two Thai and foreign passengers were injured on Tuesday when their train collided with a ten-wheeler truck.

The accident occurred at a railway crossing in Ban Pho Keaw village of Pak Tho district in Ratchaburi province when the Bangkok-Surat Thani express line crashed into the truck carrying lumber that passing through.

Preliminary reports identified a total of 19 Thais and 23 foreigners among the injured, who were now admitted to Paktho Hospital. The wounded truck driver was sent to nearby Ratchaburi Hospital.

The train was reportedly en route to Hua Hin district of southern Prachuap Khiri Khan province. (TNA)
