OIC Chief condemns assassination of Afghan Province`s Governor

Jeddah, September 15, SPA -- The Secretary General of the OIC
(Organization of Islamic Conference), Prof Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has
condemned the assassination of the regional governor of Logar
Province of Afghanistan Abdullah Wardak and some of aides in a bomb
attack last Saturday.

In a press statement issued here yesterday, Prof Ihsanoglu noted
that the continuing terrorist incidents in Afghanistan are
threatening not only the peace and stability in the country but also
its development and therefore urged all Afghans to reject terrorism
in all forms and manifestations.

The Secretary General then conveyed deep condolences to the family
of the deceased, the government and people of Afghanistan.
