World Court decision to benefit Thai-Cambodian relations

BANGKOK, July 19 (TNA) - The International Court of Justice’s ruling for Thai and Cambodian troop withdrawals from the vicinity of the Preah Vihear temple should relief anxiety for both countries, says a Thai trade official.
Department of Trade Negotiations Director-General Srirat Ratthapana, gave the comment on Tuesday, saying that from now on both countries should engage themselves more in peaceful dialogues, which would benefit trade and investments.
She explained that until now, Cambodia was one of the top trade partners of Thailand, and that the two sides had prioritized bilateral trade despite recent conflicts and feelings of insecurity.
The Thai trade official said she believed the World Court’s decision would ultimately restore a promising trade atmosphere, which would benefit the two economies. (TNA)
