Operation at helicopter crash site continues in Thailand

PHETCHABURI, July 19 (TNA) - Attempts to recover the bodies of five Thai soldiers killed in a helicopter crash in Kaeng Krachan National Park here since last Saturday have continued into the third day.
On Tuesday morning, two helicopters of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives were dispatched to the middle of the national park, but they could not reach the site due to dense clouds and poor visibility.
In the afternoon, staff of the national park planned to dispatch rainmaking planes to shower chemicals to disperse clouds. If the plan failed, another helicopter would be dispatched to drop off soldiers and park officials into a location where they could travel on foot to reach the five bodies. They would then carry the bodies to the nearest temporary helipad, some five kilometers away. The alternative plan should take about 3-4 hours to complete. (TNA)
