Buddhists from Laos, Myanmar join religious ceremonies in Thailand

BANGKOK, July 16 (TNA) - Buddhists from Laos and Myanmar join religious ceremonies in Thailand to mark the Asarnha Puja Day on Friday.

Burmese Community in Tak’s Mae Sot district, bordering Myanmar, held traditional religious ceremony to commemorate the Buddha’s first sermon and the founding of Buddhist sangha or monastic assembly on Asarnha Puja Day.

With the shared Buddhist devotion, Thai and Burmese devotees joined religious ceremony and alms-making offering items to Buddhist monks.

On the eastern frontier of Nong Khai, Thais along with Laotians also offered candles and donations to monks for use during the three-month Buddhist lent which started on Saturday. (TNA)
