Int'l envoys meet "Yingluck"

BANGKOK, July 14 (TNA) - A group of international envoys met Yingluck Shinawatra, the top list elected candidate of the Pheu Thai Party, and other Pheu Thai executives at the party's headquarters in Bangkok on Thursday to congratulate them for winning the majority seats in the Thai House of Representatives in the country's latest general election on July 3.

The foreign ambassadors, including those from India, Canada, Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt, South Africa and Morocco, said that they expected stronger ties and cooperation with Thailand in various areas after the Pheu Thai Party takes office as the new Thai government.

The Canadian top envoy took the opportunity to particularly propose further cooperation with Thailand in education and to offer scholarships to Thai students; while the African envoys proposed that sports be used to promote conciliation. (TNA)
