Maliki, French ambassador discuss bilateral cooperation

Baghdad (NINA) – Prime Minister, Nouri Al Maliki discussed with the French ambassador to Iraq increasing the cooperation between both countries in all fields, especially the political, economic, security, and scientific.

A statement issued by Maliki’s office said that “Maliki received the French official and stressed that all his meetings with the French President were the basis for the new relations between both countries.”

The statement added “the French ambassador submitted a joint cooperation project in the legal domain, pointing out that both Iraq and France have simulation between their legal systems, stressing his country’s readiness to teach Iraqi law students.”

The ambassador said also that France sides with Iraq in the construction campaign and encourages all its companies to invest in it.

The meeting also tackled the “sensitive circumstances that the region is witnessing and the necessity of reformations in it in service of its peoples’ interests, the statement concluded.
