Thai Navy plans to buy submarines from Germany
BANGKOK, July 13 (TNA) - The Royal Thai Navy says that it will proceed with its proposal to procure new submarines from Germany.
Thai Navy Chief Admiral Kamthorn Phumhirun insisted that the Royal Thai Navy needs a new fleet of submarines, and that he will propose the procurement program to the incoming Thai government with grounded reasons.
Earlier in May, the Thai Cabinet rejected the Royal Thai Navy’s proposal to buy the German submarines worth over 7 billion baht. (TNA)
