STATE TITLES AWARDED

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ On occasion of the 2220th anniversary of the first Mongolian Statehood--Hun Empire, the 805th anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire, the 100th anniversary of the Revolution of National Freedom and the 90th anniversary of the People's Revolution, state titles have been awarded to wrestlers, archers and horse-race trainers who have gained successes at the National Great Festival.
A wrestler from Uvs aimag's Baruunturuun soum S.Monkhbat who has become a champion of the wrestling of the Three Manly Games is awarded the “State Champion” title pursuant to a decree of the President. S.Monkhbat has been followed by G.Erkhembayar from Selenge. The title of “Lion” has gone to G.Erkhembayar.
With the “State Falcon” title are awarded 13 wrestlers who defeated each five opponents--S.Batsuuri (Uvs aimag), Ch.Tsogbayar (Khovd), S.Bagakhuu (Gobi-Altai), M.Erdenebat (Khovsgol), J.Chuluunbat (Bayankhongor), B.Sumya (Omnogobi), B.Amarzaya (Arkhangai), Sh.Jargalsaikhan (Zavkhan) and others.
The “Hawk” title has gone to A.Tsatsabshir (Dornogobi), G.Altangerel (Khovd), Ts.Sodnomdorj (Khovsgol) and T.Osokh-Ireedui (Selenge) who beat six rivals each.
The wrestlers who have defeated seven rivals--D.Baasandorj (Bulgan) and Ch.Sanjaadamba (Arkhangai)--received the “Elephant” title; and those with eight opponents beaten--J.Bat-Erdene (Gobi-Altai) and M.Bayarjavkhlan (Zavkhan)--the “Garuda” title.
An archer from “Khangarid” sports club from Zavkhan aimag B.Yondon has become a winner of the archery competitions in men group, whereas Kh.Oyunchimeg from Khentii aimag has become a champion in women's. They have been awarded the state title of “Mergen” (Super marksman and markswoman).
In addition, jockey children have received gifts from the State Head. They are riders of the horses that took first five places in the Naadam's horse-race.
