Former PM Chuan hospitalised

BANGKOK, July 13 (TNA) - Former Thai prime minister Chuan Leekpai, who is now the Democrat Party's chief adviser, has been admitted to Ramathibodi Hospital in Bangkok for treatment of a bloodstream infection.
Doctors said that Chuan suffered from high fever on Monday and was rushed to the Trang Hospital in the country's southern Trang Province, his hometown, before he was forwarded and admitted to the Ramathibodhi Hospital Tuesday night.
The doctors noted that the former Thai premier needs to take a week off from his work. Previously, the 72-year-old former Democrat Thai premier suffered the same illness and spent a long time resting in a hospital. (TNA)
